Hair Color Tips

You can be a very pretty, beautiful woman but, if you do not have the correct hair color for your complexion, it doesn’t matter how pretty you are, you won’t be! The correct hair color can enhance one’s total look. It is a matter of research to find the shade that fits you. It does not have to be complicated. Once you find the hair color that compliments your skin tone, then decide if you want to stay with one color or just highlights. You may want to apply the color yourself or have a stylist do it. You may want to do some research on the subject to avoid any hair casualties and you may decide to do it yourself.

Blonde Shades

Blonde is very trendy and it may be the perfect hair color for you! However, some women think they do and they actually don’t! The most important consideration is skin tone. Deep golden blondes can be very pretty with the correct skin tone. If you have pale skin with yellow undertones, golden blonde is not the color for you. It Keep in mind also that you should never go lees than a few shades lighter than your natural hair color.

Brunette Shades

If you are fair skinned, it is not a good idea to go very dark as it may make you look older or washed out. You should try to stay within one to two shades of your natural color. If this is your first attempt at changing your hair color, you may want to go a few shades lighter as opposed to a few shades darker.

Coloring or highlights

Whether you choose all over color or highlights, you may welcome the dramatic change to your appearance. If you have short to Medium-length hair, highlights can be flattering if they are kept close to the face. You may want a drastic change or more natural looking highlights by choosing a shade close to your natural color.

Highlights

There are a multitude of variations of highlights. However, the more well known are what is known as painting the hair, highlights which are done with foil, low lights and chunky, bold highlights.

At Home Kits

Do it yourself hair kits have come along way. They are perfect for people who are looking for a subtle change or cannot afford professional salon services. You can find some very popular well known brands of hair color at your local drugstore or beauty supply store such as L’Oreal, Clairol, Nice & Easy and others.

Semi-permanent color

If you are the least bit hesitant, you may want to start with semi permanent color. The hair color actually washes out after several washes, so if you make a mistake, it will be gone in a few washes!
