If you have thinning hair, you are well aware of it. It can happen to both men and women. You may have been trying to cover it up by combing your hair to one side. However, after awhile, it catches up with you and you may be running out of hair to cover up! You may have tried hair treatments and are not satisfied with the results. You may want to try a variety of hairstyles, so that you feel more comfortable with your appearance.

However, you might want to start with the overall condition of your hair and scalp. There are haircuts that are designed specifically for fine, thinning hair. You may have a lot of fine hair or you may have a little, which makes it look like it is thinning.

There can be a multitude of reasons why your hair is thinning such as your diet, stress, medication, age, or you may have a hereditary disposition to thinning hair. If you are unsure, you make want to speak to your physician about possible causes.

Most experts agree, you are better off keeping your hair short as it will look fuller. There are some classic styles for women that are designed for women who have short, thinning hair.

The Bob

This is a classic hairstyle that almost anyone can wear. The hair is kept short to ear lobe length. This cut is very flattering and will give your hair a full, healthy look. You might want to consider the shape of your face, when deciding on the length.

The Short Chop

This is another flattering style which is the classic bob with textured ends. The hair is cut just above the shoulders and the texturizing adds dimension.

The Crop

This is a cut that is tapered and short. This style will really accentuate your face. So, if you are petite, and small features, this style would be flattering.

The Mid Length-Layered

This style is specific for shoulder length hair. You may want to add some curl, to give your hair some softness and it will appear fuller.

The Cap Look

This style is all about bangs. This style looks like a baseball cap was placed on your head and your hair was cut around it. It is a very cute, short, sassy look. It is best worn on smaller, petite women.

You may want to experiment with different styles. Everyone is different. However, the general consensus is if you have thinning hair, you are better off keeping your hair short. How short?
