Pick The Perfect Hair Style For Your Age

Hairstyles were thought to be timeless, weren’t they? However, today’s trendy, new hair cut could be passé tomorrow. You may actually be able to look at the back of a person’s head and tell how old they are! If you are an older woman, chances are you will want more of a shorter, sleeker look. Typically, grandmothers prefer the helmet look for those age 60 and over. However, change is on the way. You may have your own individual style, and are looking to make a statement by yourself with your choice of hair cut, color and style.

Today’s hairstyles have no rules. You can pretty much do whatever you want. If you are young, you may want a low maintenance hair style that typically, an older person would want. It may help you look older and more sophisticated. If you are older, you may want to look more youthful and choose a short, sassy cut.

The 20s. If you are in your roaring 20’s, almost anything goes. You are young enough to try different hairstyles. Why not experiment? You may be surprised! If you have always had long hair, cut it off! Why not? Be bold and daring! Stop restraining yourself and have fun! At this age, your hair is still growing and it may end of being thicker and healthier, once you trim it. You may want to experiment with highlights or change the color completely. Have fun!

The 30s. This is typically the age of working Mothers. You may want an easy, low maintenance hair cut. Or you may want to keep it shoulder length so that you can put it back in a ponytail when you want to. There are lots of fun accessories you can buy such as hair clips, barrettes and pony tail holders.

The 40s. Go for the youthful look! Have fun! Stop looking tired and stodgy and try for a more youthful glow. You may have a few more wrinkles than you did in your 20’s but it is certainly not time to retire in the pasture! Go for a short, sporty look, or for shoulder length curls. Take the time to experiment and reinvent yourself and you may be surprised. Make sure you are taking care of your hair so it remains healthy and shiny.

The 50s. Add some highlights to spark your appearance. Try not to overdo it, but add some sparkle by lightening or darkening your hair. Try to keep it looking as natural and as healthy as possible.

The 60s. go short! You will be very happy that you did. Shorter hair is easier to maintain and it is less tedious to work with. You may want to go for a trendy, sassy bob that is cut to the frame of your face, to compliment it.
