The Right Hair Cut To Compliment The Shape Of Your Face

Hair styles are trendy. You may think that you have the ‘look’ but a trendy hair cut is not going to give you the style of the rich and famous.

You may spend hours researching all the beauty magazines looking for the perfect cut, and it may be right for that particular person, but not for you. And, if you choose a cut that is very short, it will take months for it to grow out.

The best hair cut should highlight the features of your face. You may think you look like a movie star and may try to emulate them, however, their particular style may not suit you. It is recommended that your haircut matches the shape of your face.

Oval. Hair cuts for oval shaped faces are open ended. You can go for long or short, possibly wavy? Or, you want to go for a short bob with layers. You will want to avoid a square, blunt cut otherwise, it will exaggerate the length of your face.

Oblong: the long and square look. Try to avoid cuts that make your face look wider such as short bobs or curly, wavy, hair. Bangs look great with an oblong face. Try to avoid extremes in length from short to long as this will make your face appear longer.

Round. If you have a round face, you may want to have your cut so it falls just below your chin. To slim your face, ask for layers and tapered ends. It is best to keep your hair layered rather than a one length cut.

Square. Ask for a texturized cut that will play down the strong angular shapes of your face. You make want to go with soft, flowing curls which will soften your face. Avoid extremes such as one length cuts and blunt cuts.

Heart. If you have a heart shaped face, you will want to avoid the look of a pointy chin. You may ant to ask for highlights around your face which will soften your face. The idea is to keep your hair soft and flowing. Avoid harsh, square, blunt cuts, which will add sharp angles to your face.

If you are unsure as to shape the shape of your face and the best hairstyle, take the time to meet with a professional hairstylist. They can help you with suggestions and ideas to help you look the best that you can. You may want to browse through some magazines first, to get some ideas. Take some pictures with you, to give the stylist an idea of what you are looking for. Ask for advice. Make sure you are working towards becoming more than just a pretty face.
